Because of the competitive nature of Memphis Teaching Fellows and the limited number of spaces, we strongly recommend that candidates apply early.
We require that all Memphis Teaching Fellows have official Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Mathematics exams and Praxis II test score reports on file in our office no later than May 26, 2008.

Note: April 26, 2008 is the last opportunity for applicants to take the test and be eligible for the Summer 2008 Memphis Teaching Fellows program.
Candidates do not need to register to take the Praxis II exam prior to receiving their subject assignment from the recruitment office. However, candidates who apply earlier will benefit from earlier notification of their assigned subject area and therefore can register for earlier Praxis II exams, if necessary.
Praxis I Registration Details
All applicants intested in pursuing teacher certification and/or a Master's must successfully complete the Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Mathematics exams. Applicants are encouraged to take the Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Mathematics exams as soon as possible. MTF recommends that candidates complete the computer-based Praxis I exams, since they are available almost every day by appointment. To schedule an appointment to take the Praxis I exams, call either the University of Memphis Testing Center Monday-Saturday, 9am-4:00pm at 901-678-2428 or Prometric Candidate Services Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm CST at 1-800-853-6773.
