Because of the competitive nature of Memphis Teaching Fellows and the limited number of spaces, we strongly recommend that candidates apply early.
We require that all Memphis Teaching Fellows have official Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Mathematics exams and Praxis II test score reports on file in our office no later than May 28, 2010.

Candidates who are accepted to the program will not be able to begin pre-service training without having all passing scores submitted to the Memphis Teaching Fellows office by May 28, 2010.
Candidates do not need to register to take the Praxis II exam prior to receiving their subject assignment from the Memphis Teaching Fellows office. However, candidates who apply earlier will benefit from earlier notification of their assigned subject area and therefore can register for earlier Praxis II exams.
Praxis I Registration Details
All applicants must successfully complete the Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Mathematics exams prior to the start of pre-service training. Applicants are encouraged to take the Praxis I exams as soon as possible. The Praxis I is a general knowledge exam, including sections on reading, writing, and mathematics, that is available in both computer-based and paper-based administrations. We strongly encourage you to register as soon as possible for the next available computer-based test administration. (The computer-based version is offered on a daily basis, while the paper-based version is administered only on limited set test dates.) To schedule an appointment to take the Praxis I exams, call either the University of Memphis Testing Center at 901-678-2428 or Prometric Candidate Services Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm CST at 1-800-853-6773.
